Four Talents From Singapore Win A Trip to Margaret River

News

Four Singapore-based content creators will pack their bags and head to Margaret River in Western Australia in March for the Emergence Creative Festival, an annual gathering for the international creative industry, and to capture the beauty of the famed wine region during harvest season.

This is the first time a competition has been held to bring content talents from Singapore to the Margaret River region. They will share their ideas and works with Australian and international Festival delegates – further fostering relations between Singapore, Australia, and the world – while participating in immersive experiences in the wine region that will inspire their content creation.

An open call and interviews were held in January when the Festival co-directors were in Singapore to promote the Festival and the Margaret River region.
The four content creators selected are:
● Mandy Tay, videographer
● Susan Olij, travel sketch artist
● David Loh, photojournalist
● Hannah Chia, digital media content creator

The four represent different media formats that reflect their creative styles. Their creations will be promoted on their social media and digital platforms and on various Margaret River digital platforms. An exhibition of their works inspired by their visit is planned in Singapore for later in the year.

Singapore is a key market for the Margaret River region, which is located three hours by car from Perth, Western Australia. More than 23,000 travellers from Singapore visit Margaret River each year, making it the region’s second biggest international visitor market after the United Kingdom. Singapore is also ranked fourth in the Margaret River region’s wine export market by volume and value, after China, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

Leading this year’s speaker list are Dave Bowman, Google Zoo’s Chief Creative for Asia Pacific; Kyo Seo, Head of Facebook Creative Shop, Korea; Dr. Pippa Dickson, Director of Asialink Arts; and Charu Menon, Executive Producer at Heckler Singapore.
