The 2020 Golden Pin Design Award and Golden Pin Concept Design Award revealed their international jury members. Hailing from over 15 countries, these design industry experts will judge each awards’ Preliminary, Secondary, and Final Selections. The outstanding line-up includes Yah-Leng Yu, founder of Singapore’s Foreign Policy Design Group; influential Japanese product designer Fumie Shibata; Finnish architect Marco Casagrande; Gerald Mark Soto, the 2D animation director of acclaimed New York animation studio Brand New School; and Sonja Schiefer, German industrial designer and director of BMW group Designworks’ Shanghai studio. The full list of jurors will be announced at a later date.

Established in 1981, the Golden Pin Design Award underwent a revamp in 2014, and has received entries from all over the world. Each year, international experts in creative design from countries such as the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Italy, Sweden, Belgium, the United States, Japan, Taiwan, and China have served as jurors. Notable design luminaries who have participated as jurors include Martin Darbyshire, Mårten Claesson, Luisa Bocchietto, Naoto Fukasawa, Oki Sato, Kashiwa Sato, and Tony Chi. This year also marks the first time the Golden Pin Design Award and Golden Pin Concept Design Award have invited international jurors to take part in the Preliminary and Secondary Selection, to give the awards a more international perspective.

The 2020 Golden Pin Design Award and Golden Pin Concept Design Award are currently open for submissions by talented designers from around the world. Registration fee for first 100 entries of the 2020 Golden Design Award from Singapore will be waived by the TDRI. Interested parties may email their submissions to gpaward@tdri.org.tw and the team will follow up with entries eligible for a fee waiver. All entries for the 2020 Golden Pin Design Award are also eligible for an early-bird discount till 1 June 2020.
